3 1/2 Years Old
British Columbia, Canada
A fully mature Bald Eagle ( Haliaeetus leucocephalus ) has a head and tail that are completely white with overall dark brown plumage. This aging process takes about five to six years. I would estimate that this juvenile Bald Eagle that I photographed is around three and a half or four years old. You can still see some dark flecking on the head and the beak is becoming more yellow.
